Blk Love Should Thrive On Our Own Terms

Blk Love Should Thrive On Our Own Terms

I love when I meet lovers who are out of the norm. We’ve been given great role models of traditional relationships (nod to the Cosbys) but it’s 2019 and it’s time to start accepting the fact that thriving black love does not always look the same.

Blk love is an expression and an extension of who we are.

What love looks like today is really interesting. I believe we’re more open minded to explore different options of what we like and dislike. What is for us & what was an exploratory phase.

& not to mention all of the existential things about black love that don’t really matter but then again they do?!

Like…

should you post them on instagram?

WIll they understand you want to be in be in a relationship with more than one person at a time?

I mean… IS $30 a date??

Is marriage feasible?

What are our roles if we’re trying to get away from the seemingly toxic gender role situation?

*siiiiigh*

Basically as we figure ourselves out we need to reminded that LOVE is a thing that should happen on our own terms!

What works for you will ultimately make you happy. Be honest and kind with yourself as you explore.

Love you first, &, don’t hurt other people.

Blk love is a beautiful thing. Especially when you love how your soul was meant to love.
